North Jacksonville Baptist Church stands at a pivotal moment—one only God could orchestrate. For over 33 years, Pastor Herb Reavis has faithfully led our church, and now, in God’s perfect plan, his son, Pastor Josh Reavis, joins him as co-pastor, continuing the legacy of Gospel-centered leadership.
Bro. Josh’s journey at North Jax began long before he stepped into the pulpit. He grew up in these halls, was shaped by this church family, and for nearly 20 years has served as a dedicated member of the pastoral staff. His deep love for this church and unwavering commitment to God’s Word have uniquely prepared him to help lead us into the future.
Our capital giving campaign, The Future Is Now: Once in a Generation, For the Next Generation, is a call to invest in what God is doing today. This vision has been years in the making—North Jax has always been committed to growth, ensuring that as our church family expands, we have the space and resources to reach more people with the Gospel. The time has come to take the next step, completing what was always meant to be part of our future. This is about more than leadership—it’s about legacy. It’s about planning for growth and ensuring that the next generation has a church where the Gospel is boldly proclaimed, lives are transformed, and God is glorified. Many years ago, we began to build the North Jax campus we enjoy today.

A Legacy of Faith. A Future of Growth.
Since 1937, North Jacksonville Baptist Church has been a beacon of faith and community. What began with 57 believers meeting in a small room grew into a thriving ministry impacting Northeast Florida and beyond. From our first sanctuary on Pearl Street to our bold move in 1989 to 43 acres on the Trout River, each step has been guided by faith and a commitment to reaching people for Christ.
Over the years, we’ve expanded to meet the needs of our growing church family—adding worship spaces, education buildings, and ministry areas. Now, we stand on the foundation laid by those before us. We are now planning a 15,000-square-foot addition to our children’s and preschool wings, complete with an indoor playground and a 5,700 square foot outdoor courtyard, along with a 26,000 square foot remodel of all existing children’s areas and expanded adult small group space. This brings the total square footage of this project to just under 50,000 square feet.
Buildings serve a purpose, but our mission remains unchanged—to win people to Jesus and disciple generations to come. Now is our time to step forward in faith, ensuring North Jax continues to be a place of worship, growth, and service for years to come. Once in a generation, for the next generation.

For 40 years, on our current campus, North Jax has been a place where families are strengthened, communities are reached, and lives are transformed by the Gospel. Now, we step into the future with plans for a new children’s wing complete with an indoor treehouse and outside courtyard—designed to inspire young hearts, equip families, and impact generations for Christ. This state-of-the-art space will be more than just walls and technology—it’s where children will encounter the love of Jesus. Vibrant classrooms, interactive learning spaces, and an indoor treehouse will make church a place of joy and discovery, while a new courtyard and playground will foster friendships and meaningful connections. Beyond benefiting our children’s ministry, this expansion will free up space for adult small groups, strengthening our entire church family. The time is now to build on the faithfulness of those before us and invest in the future.
