Many parents have expectations of a youth ministry. Some view the youth ministry as a teen-age baby sitting service, a place where they can send their kids while the parents themselves can worship without the hassle of their student. Some see a youth ministry as a cruise ship, constant activities meant to entertain and keep them busy, if we can fill all of their time with positive events, maybe they won't get involved in negative ones. Some think that this is the place to be straightened out, like the principal's office. We believe that the ministry here is about introducing students to Christ and helping them mature in that and every relationship in their lives. Does that mean they will be "straightened out?" Probably not, seeing as most of us really aren't, but hopefully they will fall in love with a lifestyle of obeying Christ. Does that mean they won't have fun? Well, I hope they do, we put in a lot of planning to make this a great, fun experience for everybody. We do have a lot of things to do, but it's not our focus. What you can expect is people that will love and care for your student, that we will pour God's word into the hearts of your teen, and people will pray for the spiritual success of your child, knowing that if they are a success there, they will succeed in this life as God intended.
It is my prayer that we partner together to watch your child develop into an amazing person in the kingdom of Christ.
